For sale, SUnfire Sig II 625x2. The unit is in great shape. I will take some pictures and post later tonight.
This unit will come with the original box and a copy of the manual, and if you wish i can include a receipt for everything that was gone through by Rollan at Hi-Tech audio ( $330 + shipping_) that was completed 8-13-12. Rolland made sure everything was up to spec and installed high temp caps through out the down converterer.
$1700 Shipped. I will give it a few weeks on here before going to the Agon with it.

Awe inspiring amplifier at a hell of a good price. I wish I was able to grab this one, but I am currently building an audio room and all funds are going to that instead. The Gear... This should have been asked privately imho...
There are several people here asking what amp to drive LSi/M's, SDA's and a myriad of other speakers. Trust me when I tell you this is the last amp you will ever need for a very high-end two channel setup. If this is still here EJ, in a couple weeks, I may have to jump on this. Right now it's just too close to Xmas for me to pull the trigger. The Gear... I'm in no hurry to sell. It is a great amp and served me well and can drive any speaker that I have put on it including carver amazing originals that dip to 1 ohm. It has beat almost every amp I have put it up against in sound quality and even driving the amazings while the lights dimmed in the other room it never got hot.
Why am I selling? I went mac.
For trades pm me please. I'm open.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -

Looking closer at the unit, on the top right corner it does have a couple of scratches. I tried to get a pic of it but even in a lit room my cell camera wont capture it. I have never cleaned the unit outside of a little dusting for fear of the signature coming off or, i have seen several sunfire amps turn purple or a funky color so,i have only used a dry rag to wipe it.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

I was trying to down size a little. Right now I am using an ma6900. It is a surprisingly great sounding integrated! I guess it really shouldn't be surprising since the original cost on it was in the $6000 range but, I got a wild hair one night and i Hooked up my AR SP16 tube pre to the 6900.... I might have gotten too used to tubes for a preamp. So I spend a week listening to the MA6900 with out the AR sp16 tube pre, and then a week with the sp16 . There is a difference. It's not a this is better or this sucks difference though, this one is personal preference difference. On on some music I lean towards the Mac pre, and some the ar pre. The amp section though in the ma6900 with the AR is again a surprisingly good match-up. So I right now I am not sure if I am going to keep the ma6900 and sell the AR or sell the 6900 , keep the AR and go with a MC352 or MC302 when one comes up for sale. If i do go with a 352 or 302, I have no idea what one to try first. The 302 I think might be newer but, a lot of amazing reviews for the 352. The MA6900 has plenty of power for the Legacy Focus. I know I know I'm all over the place on what my final decision will be. Just making sure I can just live with the Mc6900 without the tube preamp. Granted my CD player is tube but you know what I mean.
This is going to sound so un audiophile of me but, on some cd's or lp's that I have, great music but the mastering is ****ty so having the eq on the Ma6900 is also kind of nice. 90% of the time everything is bypassed but, a few a little hit of the 30 or 10k knob and it makes crappy recordings sound a little better or more listenable. So that's another thing I am on the fence about.
I will also state, on the 6900 I have not tried using the internal preamp with better jumpers or my DH labs cables instead of the stock jumpers. That will be my next step.
I will say right off the bat i was surprised how well the Legacy Focus i am running matched with the Mac integrated. I am using the 4 ohm taps on it. Smooth, clean, tight, with a hint of warmth and very listenable.
People reading this, I change gear a lot. The sunfire has lasted the longest in my system. It is that good especially for the $ It's just time for a change. The sunfire has been mated with a adcom gfp565, Carver c-19, McIntosh C-39, and AR sp-16 in it's time here with fantastic results on any of them. I am not getting a better sound with the mcintosh vs the sigII, just a different sound.
Sorry all for the long explanation of what amp i went or might be with LOL. Lets face it, experimenting is 1/2 the fun for a lot of us here.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -

1.2's, probably with the Adcom 750 pre to pass HT through. I've been using a 300x2 and B&K for this purpose and I'm hoping the Sig II will be a bit of a step up and possibly help out in a couple years with Maggies when a room is freed up.
Until I finish recapping the 1.2's, it'll be the Hartley Concertmasters on the tube integrated and my son's SRS 2's on the Sunfire. My first SDA experience was those same SRS2's driven by a Sig II (if memory serves) at TonyM's and it pretty much blew me away. I think I probably joined this forum later that day, hehe.
Cheers!

I had both the 300x2 and the sig II at the same time and ran it on the 1.2 and 2.3 sda.
The sig bass was tighter sharper and faster. Mids were more pronounced and the top end was smoother without getting harsh vs the 300.

Got the Sig II yesterday in excellent shape. Many thanks to erniejade for the square dealing, laser-fast shipping, and great comm. Would not hesitate a second to deal with again.
But I have to wonder about the guy's sanity, hehe. This amp is fantastic and an amazing value. I expected improvement over the Sunfire 300, B&K, and Parasound 2200 that had been in this setup. But I didn't expect THIS.
Before bringing in the SRS 2's (as temporarily replacement for 1.2's while I recap), I hooked up the Revel M22's. They sounded fantastic and seemed to fill the room much more easily than before (the room is terrible - ~20x30, cathedral ceiling, lots of glass - 8'x10' opposing and 12'x12' on 1 side, open end on other side, only treatments are behind front and rear corner speakers). But these little guys sounded great and had a very large sweet spot. Love this speaker.
Then I hooked up the Hartley's. This is the Concertmaster VI, their flagship in the 60s and 70s. They were updated this year at Hartley by the same guy who built them in '71, owner Richard Schmetterer. They have heavily overlapping 24" super-woofer (16-4k), 10" midrange (20-22k), 7" tweeter-mid (1k-22k), and 1" dome super (2k-25k). I've been running these with the amps above, but mainly with the 30w 6L6G tube integrated. Regardless of amp, the sound has been excellent - laid back, extremely dynamic and musical. I've listened to these late into the night...always enjoyable, never tiring. I sensed there was untapped potential in the top end, though, so I replaced the nos Mullard signal tubes with Telefunkens, bought more MIT shotgun speaker cables, and even tried some silver ic's to gain a little bit of energy (didn't like the silvers). Improved range, controlled slam, fantastic warm midrange detail - very enjoyable to listen to, but still pretty laid back by my already-laid-back standard/preference. I seemed to split my time pretty evenly between the Hartley's and the 1.2's depending on my mood.
Then I tried them with the Sig II. WOW! I think this is about as good as I can do in this room for now without spending a LOT more money. Amazing control and clarity. Much improved top end. Cymbal hits are like full frequency range rainbows, with gorgeous shimmer and decay. No graininess or edge of any sort, just smooth, natural detail. I've gone through much of the Mapleshade catalog since, and it really seems like those bands are playing in my den. Horns are raw and organic and remarkably dynamic. Exuberant toe-tapping fun.
So screw the 2's for now, hehe. I'll enjoy this pairing and take my time with the work on the 1.2's.
Thanks again erniejade! I'm a very happy man.

Thanks! Yep I am not sure if what I did was an upgrade, its just different. The sig II is definately a much better sounding sunfire and the recap / Rolland's touch brought it to another level I think especially in the mid/highs. The sig is in a different league vs the 300X2 I had.
If you sell it, I get first dibs on buying it back LOL.

I'm just lucky I haven't heard a Mac since the 70's and so don't have any idea what I'm missing, hehe. Although I did make the mistake of listening to some well set up Maggies at Hartley.
