KEF C15 BOOKSHELF LOUDSPEAKER - 9/10 - Black Wood Veneer - FREE
These are the diminutive speakers that changed my hi-fi life back in 1985. One of the best versions of Al domes that have been done historically. NHT and KEF are leaders in this area since most of them sound like crap .Infinity rings a bell also Paradigm.
I bought a pair of these on SOOO much credit back then and they sounded so good, they replaced what was my bar standard Polk Audio Monitor 10B. I listened to every track and CD that I owned after hearing these little mother F'ers. Yes, I'm clearly sentimental about them and your experience may not be mine but thats OK. Sometimes it's something that you don't expect in audio, that slaps you and calls you her ****.
My original C15 went away prior to finding Club Polk and after befriending Russman, he found another pair for me, years later. Russ is a great friend and also shares my passion for the little guy, the small things that make you want to carry on this hobby and love.
I'm offering these speakers to an honest Polkie, and earnest owner and contributor with the hope that you'll pass on the good will. If you don't, well, that's the way it goes but you have made that decision.
Please pass these on, enjoy them or touch them while naked and covered in cottage cheese. I'll post some pics in a few but they are awesome, edges are perfect and grills are showroom. I don't sell or give away junk folks and this is special to me.
Regards,
Mark

Some interesting little boxes there. I've always had great respect for Mark's ear, taste, and have, over the years through reading old threads, realized that I also have many tastes that are similar to Russman's even though we've never met (actually I may have a pair of Russman speakers via John?).
That is a curious surround on that tweeter, I assume the entire tweeter is aluminum with the largest surface a dome and ridges on the surround area.
Neat stuff!
Have fun gudnoyez!

My ear gets older but my taste is always high end CNH. I appreciate the comment and yeah, I think a lot of us old timers, and newer folks have had something hit on by the RUSS's. Be it Hoosier21 or Russman, I owe tons to those two folks….and F1Nut, TroyD, GeorgeGrand, etc etc etc.
The surround on the tweeter is a diffuser and yes the tweeter is Al. It's smooth which is is not often a characteristic of Al domes. That's what caught my ear and I've been a KEF fan since then…later into other manufacturers with less success.
I think it's quite difficult to smooth out a hard dome when it comes to freq response. Silk is King in my book but there are some that really know how to tame the animal.

gudnoyez be sure to post up your impressions of them after you try them out! -
Nice Karma, enjoy. My very first pair of decent speakers back in the mid-90's was a KEF setup. I can't remember the exact model, but they sounded excellent paired with my old Nakamichi receiver.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

Hey, gudnoyez, what ever happened with these speakers? I was waiting to read your impressions on them. I had - may still have - an opportunity to pick up a pair of these from a friend of a friend of mine.
Please post some feedback on these when you get a chance.
Thanks. -

Yeah, that doesn't sound at all like Mark. He must have just overlooked it, seeing as how he's had tons of stuff up for sale and karmas lately. He karma'd me a Polk shirt a while back and it got here so fast, I thought he must have FAX'd it! I don't think you're out of line dropping him a PM reminder. If he changed his mind, he'll just let you know.
Yeah, LOTS of snow here! We got hit with another 11" a few days ago. On top of that, none of it is going anywhere since we've had only single digit temps lately and that's to continue for at least the next 7-10 days. The banks on the sides of the driveway are hard to see over when backing out. Should be gone by July! -
