Good Story for a change

Far be it from me to post a good story, but this one deserves some attention, from an airline no less.

WestJet of Canada had a virtual Santa asking passengers what they wanted for Christmas. Passengers shrugged it of as a seasonal gimmick but told Santa what they wanted anyway.

While the passengers were in the air, WestJet scrambled their volunteers to go get everything on those lists. When passengers landed, went to get their luggage, Santa was there with their wish. Even a big screen TV. Kudo's to WestJet....may success follow you and your people.

    I think a story like that does so much more for a business than spending millions on advertising. And you end up doing something good in the process. There are a couple local stores around here where the owners are always doing something special for their employees. And believe me, the word spreads. Stuff like that has a much more positive impact on their business than an advertisement in the newspaper or a short TV commercial. Never underestimate the power of "word of mouth". IMO.

    That was really cool. Some of the passengers were moved to tears. As I was watching the video I kept expecting it to turn into a cheezy Christmas commercial. Kudos to WestJet!
