Purchase Marantz SR6007 or Denon AVR-X4000

I'm purchasing something today. Leaning towards a Marantz SR6007 as I can get one new for $715 shipped. The Denon is a refurb for $100 more. Any thoughts? Can I just get a few people to say (and mean it) go ahead an purchase the Marantz?

    I'd get the Marantz... I think their warranty is longer... My Denon only had a one year warranty and I think Marantz is three... You might want to confirm...

    I personally like the sound of Marantz better than Denon. That is what I would base my decision on. Have you listened to both brands? They have different sounds.

    I wonder is it is stupid to by any AVR right now with HDMI 2.0 products about to hit the market...? What does everyone else feel about this?

    make sure it is from an authorized dealer or the warranty length won't matter. Marantz will sound better all around and musically superior.

    Yea, they had a new one(s) in-stock yesterday which was all sold out before I nabbed it. So, as of yet, I have not purchase anything.

    I would taken the Denon because of Audessey XT32 and SubEQ HT. I had the Marantz SR-7005 and Denon 4311 and preferred the Denon mostly because of the Audessey upgrade.

    I actually just looked at a Denon AVR-X4000 the other day at a local store, and ended up leaving with the Yamaha RX-A1030 instead. It had been quite a while since I shopped receivers, and was a little disappointed as it seems as though Denon has slipped some. I was not at all impressed with the build quality of the Denon. The chassis felt rather flimsy, and it was noticeably lighter weight than the Yamaha. I will be honest, I did not listen to either as I've come to realize that home theater is just not as important to me as my 2ch setup. Plus I'm really only going to use it as a Preamp/Processor. YMMV

    I installed one of newer Marantz a few months ago. felt cheap and sounded cheap. I use a Marantz my self in my HT setup. I was let down by their new line up.

    Considered a Pioneer VSX or harman kardon yet?
