Pioneer 1222-k. worth buying?* need repair

Hello everybody,
I have just found a pioneer 1222-k AVR. mint condition with everything including box
Through a friend that was going to post on my local Craigslist.
Anyways. He says it has no sound from fronts/rears and
possibly the center(he could not remember) ONLY the side surrounds work.
He wants $50 for it O.o I am mechanicallyelectrical effecient. But nothing compared to you audiophile's lol.
I could try and figure it out hopefully.
My question is.
Should I buy it?
There is nobody locally that even repairs stuff like this where I live.
Is there anybody online I can ship to and get repaired?
Any of you audiophile people have any suggestion what might be the problem?
This will save me a lot of money(hopefully lol) I AM upgrading my Pioneer 520-K as it is not suffice anymore lol

    Do a full system reset on it - I've had those work wonders on units like this.

    Google for best results -you hold down a few front panel buttons while it's off.

    Ah jeez guys lol.
    I think I might have to flip a coin on this one.
    I did Google on the reset and so fourth.
    But I am weary of the probability of it working lol.

    I understand it should BUT lately my week has been going "unfortunately"
    I ordered a pair of FXI3, I even asked the guy if they are L and R side. He said yes.
    Arrived monday. I got excited like my 18month old daughter and BOOM!! they are BOTH are "right side" omfg.

    Then I ordered a very nice Sennheiser headphones "open box" description- excellent condition.
    I open them yesterday and BOOM!! again. This time the damn cable is cut WTF lmao. No biggie .a lol solder and heatshrink did wonders:-D
    And seller was extremely nice and refunded my 7/8 of the purchase price and I kept and fixed them:-)

    I will keep you in my thoughts RecoveryoneB-)
