Interest Check: Technics 1200 + Audiomods Classic + mods

I'm thinking about selling my backup table in a few weeks. I can't post pics yet as it is in the USA.

It is getting RoyLCraft platter and damping mods and external PSU now. I may have a wooden drop-in hardwood case made to match the wooden housing for external PSU. I have talked with Roy, and believe his mods are the best bang for the buck on the 1200.

Tonearm is Audiomods Classic. This one has the polished finish, with brass finish counterweight and stub. No micrometer. This one also has a Series V Cardas 5-pin connector, Series IV bearings, silver internal wire, full set of headshell shims, and a transferable warranty from Audiomods. All extra parts included, manual, wooden case, etc.

Table is black Technics 1200 with Rega armboard and blank. No cart or DIN cable is provided. But I do have a sealed AT33PTG I can add for $500.

Nice table and a true workhorse that will run a looonggg time! The description of the added features and mods remind me of going into an auto showroom and hearing the salesman describe all the "extras" I can have. Not that that is a bad thing, it's just an amusing juxtaposition because it shows how much TT guys are "into" their tables. It's just like guys with their cars, adding manifolds, turbo charging, over head intakes, spoilers and so on.

If I had that kind of cash on hand, I'd be all over this. But I don't run in these circles. I'm more of a Yugo man! lol

It's going to be hard to not hang onto it, but I probably won't have my own place in USA for another couple years.

Please let me know if you are interested, as a cart can be bought and mounted for you by Roy and shipped ready top play. It also has a brand new bearing going in. Original has a badly bent thrust plate, usually these can be straightened out but this one is beyond repair. The thrust bearing is also shown. It has a small round Teflon pad, when these are new they are flat, after many years of proper use they will show a small dimple from normal wear.

Other options include dust cover, rubber mat, and Technics feet mounted to underside of new wood chassis. The old ones are on the PSU, and I think I'm going to buy some to be mounted on the chassis anyway. I think they are M6 so you could add something like spikes or Isonoe footers later.

I'll have pics when it's ready on Saturday. Color is off a bit no doubt, better pics to come. He made a custom wood tonearm mount:
