    What song are they playing on tribute page? I have none of his music, really like this song. I need to pick up a CD or 2 of his music.

    The "Strictly Commercial" compilation is a good place to start IMNSHO... FZ was a very challenging composer/musician; getting a toe-hold on his work isn't the easiest thing in the world :-) I got my son started with the aforementioned compilation and he became a big, big fan.

    Been listening to a lot of Zappa lately, primarily his fusion era stuff. If you think Zappa is all about witty, silly, sophomoric lyrics then you're missing the boat. Give a listen to any of the following and I'm willing to bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.

    Actually, even the witty and satirical stuff is set to interesting compositions. In my youth, when I first heard this stuff, I found that it was always the more "heady" guys who were into Zappa. Sure they like the humor and irreverence, but what they were really into was the "music". I'd describe them as more "thoughtful", musically.
