    From FB earlier today. Good news...

    Hi folks, just wanted to let you all know that Russ is still in CCU but is expected to be moved to a regular room today!! He was taken off the ventilator last night around 9. He is up sitting in a chair this morning and has walked 88ft. He is being a smart butt to the nurses and said he has had the entire CCU unit coming in to look at him because one of his nurses said he looks like Bill Clinton! So if anybody hears a rumor that Bill Clinton is in CCU at Redmond ...it's just Russ. Thanks for all of the prayers and thoughts. We are overwhelmed at the love and support. He has asked for a room with a view since we have been here awhile and will be here most of the week. God has bless us with a great Dr. Parsa and a wonderful staff at Redmond. We will forever be grateful for these folks!!
    On a sentimental note Russ Abernathy and I had our first date 27 years ago yesterday and cant wait to journey for 27 more!!! He is the best!

    FB update from earlier today...

    Update on Russ Abernathy. He had a rough night last night and didn't get much rest. Today he has gotten most of his tubes out and is doing much better. He has had rehab and walked his goal of 480 ft. on his first try!!! He is doing awesome and is going to rest today and work his way toward going home!! If I don't post again this week, just know that all is well!! I can't thank everyone enough for all of the prayers and well wishes, calls, snacks and everything that has been done for us. We love you all!

    FB update from Russ himself. Headed home, GREAT NEWS!

    Monday I go in the O.R. At 7am for open heart double by-pass surgery. Released and headed to the house at 4 P.M. Thursday. Walking to the car on my own. How is that possible? Thank you everyone e for the thoughts and prayers. They must have worked so far.
