Hey fellow polkies this is the stand I bought for the new tv. I got the A6 center now what a beast compared to the A4. with the 55 inch there is plenty of room for the A6 to sit on top under the tv. The second shelf will come a panamax and a Oppo 103 Will purchase on Monday. I only want the AVR the Oppo and the panamax hooked up as that Oppo will play everything I will throw at it no need for additional components. The only issue I have is the bottom shelf is 9 inches high the Denon is 8 inches high that leaves an inch on top for breathing room plenty of room in the rear and sides for ventilation will this be ok? I'am I worrying for nothing, as far as ventilation goes?

1" clearance is tight, but at least the sides and back are open. Can you drill new holes for the middle shelf to sit higher without it looking crappy? I've done this before, but it depends on the TV stand I suppose...

I suppose I could drill holes and raise the second shelf a tad. I took one of thier display A6 centers and was so happy it was a perfect fit I did not think about the clearance on the bottom however there was a Yamaha AVR on the bottom shelf. I looked every where today finding a entertainment stand like I want is not easy I did see a Salamander stand I liked with plenty of room but really can't justify it's 889.00 price tag after the money I already spent. I drove to everyplace possible looking for one though I gave up.

Is wall mounting the TV an option?

Wall mounting is an option but I would still want the center in the middle of the top shelf leaving me with the same dilemma, Christ I beti will toss and turn all night dang it all.

Steve, I think you're worrying about nuthin'. Those Denons, in my experience, tend to run pretty cool, especially compared to the Onkyos. You should be fine, especially since the back and sides are pretty wide open. Give it a try, running it for a while. Push it a little bit and see how hot it gets. If it's a little toasty then you can think about drilling to raise the shelf above the AVR for more clearance or you can consider one of those little fans you put on top of the AVR to improve the ventilation. They can be had on the cheap - about $20-$25 - are very quiet and do a terrific job. You just plug it into your switched outlet on the back of your AVR and it comes on when you power up.

Some of the fans are super thin with dual fans that draw the air up through the AVR and shoot it out on the sides of the blade enclosure. Others just draw the air up through the AVR and straight up. I have one of the straight up ones and it made an Onkyo that was in an enclosed cabinet go from nearly hot enough to cook an egg on (minus the obvious issue of it running down through the vents and all over everything!) to just barely warm to the touch and it runs super quiet.
