What are some receivers that you would recommend ($200 or under preferably) for Tsi100s. I want them for my room/basement and just want to play music from my phone.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your music. It is the shopping season so why not look into a low end entry level Pioneer or Onkyo with air-play and other hook-ups to interface with your phone. Keep it under $300 or less because if you ever get into music in a bigger way your system will end up being passed along. Again, Welcome.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think that the onkyo tx-8020 would be a good purchase?

    Welcome to Club Polk!

For two channel music from your phone you won't need much more than the $100 Sherwood Dskip referenced above. It has everything you need and will sound good enough with those entry speakers.

If you want to go upscale a bit. Any STEREO receiver by Marantz or Harman Kardon will do you, Onkyos are also good.

    A Marantz SR-4023
Harman Kardon 3390 or the more powerful 3490 (if you can afford it)
Onkyo TX-8050 would also be good

The Onkyo and the 3490 have DACs for Digital audio connections so that's a PLUS!

Almost none of the stereo receivers have and HDMI out. Which is what you would need to hook to a PS4, and a newer laptop if it has an HDMI port.

So what you really need is an "entry" level AVR (Audio-Video Receiver). The Yamaha you mention should have the appropriate requirements for 5 channel surround plus .1 for the sub or 5.1 surround! And allow you to hook up your PS4 and laptop to it then run ONE HDMI wire from the Yamaha to the TV and use the Yamaha as the switching unit.

Any new AVR has the appropriate HDMI specs for what you need. That Onkyo would be fine as well. The only thing to consider is that you're stuck with whatever you purchase for now.

Higher model AVRs often have Pre-outs that can be used to improve power and audio performance through the addition of external amps. But if you're just going to power bookshelves that are fairly efficient, the Onkyo is fine!

Have you looked at www.accessories4less.com They have refurb units that come with a ONE year warranty and are often bargain priced. They sell Onkyo, Marantz, and Denon, etc.

I ran them with my trusty Pioneer 520-K has many hdmi inputs along with audio features dts-neo-etc..
sounded great. Received a lot of compliments with those on sound with movie/music.
I am very pleased with it performance of the quality on both audio and video

I recently put them to the back
And have Polk M70 SII in front. Now need to upgrade lol.
I was however going to buy another for my best friend and maybe mother in-law
    Perfect entry level I think.

EBay has like 3 @auction for like 49 shipped(so far) with a 14 day return policy
Even Wal-Mart carries the Pioneer 522-k or maybe it's the 523
