receiver recommendation

I just recently purchased two polk rta11tl speakers, excellent shape. Im powering them with an old hand me down jvc rx 400 ..I do have a NAD 2 way amp part number 2600a it provides 150watts rms but have yet to hook it up. what do you guys recommend I do , is this a good enough amp or do I simply need a better receiver? I understand I am new here but any input is welcomed and appreciated. thanks everyone

    You don't need another receiver, you need a 2 channel pre amp to go with your NAD amp.

    I guess ill do some research on pre amps , so you figure the receiver I have won't affect the quality of sound ? It's pretty old

    It's affecting the sound quality in a negative way. That's why you need a nice 2 channel pre amp.

    I see now , any recommendations ? I use this setup mostly for music .

    Do you plan on using this setup for movies at all ? The pre amp suggestion was correct on the assumption this is for music only. If you plan on doing movies or adding more speakers, a receiver may be your best option. A budget also would help in suggestions.

    I am definitely a movie fanatic but I don't plan on adding any speakers to my setup anytime soon ... Just a 2 channel setup for now . Could I use a preamp later on if I decided to add more speakers to my system later on down the road ?

    Oh and any future spendings toward my setup would have to remain under 300. After that I'll have to wait a while , this is my. Christmas gift to myself lol
