Cheap tweak with AC plugs

Bought two of the Neotech NC-P311 (12.8mm, 14mm, 16.5mm, 18mm) Cryo treated Gold plated UPOCC Copper Male AC plug from Sonicraft for $23.95 each. Replaced the AC plugs I bought at Lowes that I used when I built my two balanced isolation transformers. These originally retailed for $70 each.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but after around 6-10 hours of burn in I can say that the overall sound is a little smoother, micro detail a little better.

Recommended; no affiliation with SC.

I have tried NeoTech power connectors in the past, as well as Furutech and Oyaide. They've all produced similar results to what you've experienced. Do you have pictures of your balanced isolation transformer projects ? Here's some of what I've done:

Man those are impressive looking. Mine are based on Jon Risch's plans using Signal DU isolation transformers - Heavy iron! I'll take some pics and post up later today.

I've read discussion on Audio Asylum about the Jon Risch implementation of balanced power using the Signal DU transformers, but not seen pictures of any completed projects.

Glen, the trannies are in a cabinet behind the speakers and equipment, so I couldn't pull them out and get good pics, but here ya go. The DU3 has the Alan Maher tweak of a Hammond choke wired across the line of the outlet fed by the tranny. It works pretty well to provide a bit of additional noise filtering.

The DU 0.5 has the CDP and DAC plugged into to separate digital from analog.
