I just found a pair of Polk M20 for 80/pair. I currently have Polk R40s. Of these two, which would be better? They will be used as the fronts in my setup. I'm not worried about the bass as for I have a sub (bic f12). Any suggestions or thoughts?
My Setup: Denon AVR X3600h, Polk Signature S50 Fronts w/ S30 Center and S15 Rears, LG UBK90 4K Player, TCL 6-Series 65”4k TV

Anyone have any experience with the m20s? Any thoughts and suggestions for the "economy" polk owner??

I would save your money; for $80 it's not a huge gamble to give them a shot, but it would be a lateral move at best IMHO.

No experience with m20s that you asked for, but after owning a pair of R50s for 10 years I have an idea of what the 40s can do.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Thanks for your input. My R40s sound pretty good. These and the m20s specwise are similar both got good reviews...guess I was curious as to having dual 5 1\4 drivers versus a single 6.5 for midbass/midrange sound. Sometimes more drivers doesn't mean better sound.

Agreed. I had a pair of Insignia bookshelf speakers with a single driver (with the tweeter in the middle of the woofer) that seemed musical than the R50s did. But for HT use, I kept the 50s.

If you can audition them and return them without any hassle, by all means give them a try.

I'm probably gunna pass on the m20s...my r40s got better reviews. However, I just saw a pair of RT7s. Anyone have any experience with these? Any thoughts? How well would they integrate into my setup?

Well...I gave my parents my polk r40s to complete their 2ch setup at their home. They really liked how they sounded...so as a early Xmas gift that's what they got. I'm back to a 3.1 setup...moved my tsi100s back to the front. I searched CL and stumbled on a pair of tsi100s with stands for about 100. They're in like new condition. This would timbre-match my setup. Any thoughts? Would this be a good purchase? I'm not worried about the bass cuz of my sub...

I somehow forgot about the black Friday and cyber Monday sales...the polk t15s were on sale at BB for 49.98/pair. These got a lot of good reviews so I decided to pick up a pair. I hooked them up to the front channels just to give a listen...and like many of the reviews I read I also was quite surprised at their sound! Even out of the box! To me, they almost equal my tsi100s. Can't wait til they break in...very happy with the buy:-). Think that ad on CL for those tsi100s might be bogus :-\ ...so I'm gunna pass on that.

They are solid speakers for the price.

I have mine broken in and we used them for music for our wedding. They filled the room quite nicely.

Nice :-). I agree these are solid. In all honesty, the overall sound of my setup now seems better..strangely.

You can't go wrong with the price/performance of the t15's when they are on sale at Best Buy.

Are there better speakers out there? Sure, but you'd be hard pressed to get something as good in a pinch.
