When are we gonna get full forum functionality back?

It's been a few weeks now since the hack, just curious when/if we're gonna get the full functionality we had before back online? A proper widescreen view, mobile view, etc...
I know the VBulletin software fairly well and would be glad to help get things put back together if its just a matter of manpower.

Happy 10K posts. Are you running in "test" or "red-grey"? In test most functionality is available. -
Perhaps I am wrong. But I kinda get the feeling this forum is not a priority to the powers that be at Polk Audio.--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -

Checked on this and the best I have to offer is that they are considering different software for the forum. I am left to infer that since things are back up and running for the most part that they don't want to invest any time into vbulletin until a decision is made. Hope this helps. Cheers.

So in other words, full functionality isn't going to happen. That's a shame too because this forum does more to promote Polk speakers and keep costumers happy and knowledgeable than anything else Polk puts forth. Even those of us who have moved on from Polk speakers still hang out here to promote their line up and give accolades. Considering different software ? Sounds like corporate speak for "not worth the investment".
Not raggin' on you Nap, your just the messenger and we get that. But it has been awhile now and opinions are going to turn if decisions aren't made soon....at least mine will. I sure hope some big wigs run into a brick wall to knock some sense into them over the value of this forum.HT SYSTEM-

It's more like DEI doesn't care and that's nothing new. Polk is just another cog in that machine and it will get worse.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I don't get the impression that they have forgotten us and I certainly hope that is not the case. I think more will be coming on this. Stay tuned. Cheers. -

vBulletin is a solid product. I've owned and operated a license since 20001. And it's not that hard to operate a forum technically. If the Polk IT staff doesn't have time, you guys should just delegate admin/moderator rights to a couple of long-time members here. The super admin account can control all accounts, so keep it with the Polk IT staff, but don't just leave the forum in shambles.
About the spam issue, easy piece of cake to control. Besides add-in, you can actually add an additional step in the registering process: ask the new users to confirm the registration via their email address. Most spammers won't spend time to do so. Also the registration step can require users to pass a CAPTCHA. That eliminates a bunch of spammer bots.
About the hack issue, once you guys delegate a few more hands to take care of the forum, there will be ample time and manpower to apply critical updates to the forum software once those were released. Damn hard to hack a fully up-to-date forum software.
So it's the ignoring part that is the problem. Polk needs to fix that problem. It doesn't cost a damn cent to put some trust in the CP members to take care of the forum.Gears shared to both living room & bedroom:

I have to agree with some of you on the importance of this forum. I don't think the forum represents their target audience anymore.
A bunch of yahoos complaining about the availability of RDO tweeters isn't their target demographic?!? -
I don't think it's about targeted audiences, more so dollars and control. Mark knows more than anyone about handing control to forum members and the corporate B.S..
To me it's about meeting a number set forth by a board so executives can reach bonus bucks and the given company is marketable to sell....again. That's the way the corporate structure works. Can't tell you how many times I've seen this.
Marketing is based around building brand loyalty. Executives are based around dollars and bottom lines. They don't necessarily go hand in hand. This forum is an important part in keeping that brand loyalty so many others would give their left nut for. If Polk can't see that, or lack the problem solving ability needed, then they have become the same in an ocean of mediocrity among corporations. They would no longer stand out as an exceptional company.
I hope I'm dead wrong, a lot of good people poured a heck of a lot sweat into building something here. For what then I ask ? In my mind it's not so much the software issue itself, it's the lack of concern to fix it. That's what has most upset.
Maybe just hand it all over to the 3 dudes in San Fran that fixed the Obamacare website in days....not months. Amazing what can be accomplished if you WANT to.HT SYSTEM-

Any of you boys seen what Pope Franky said about the old Laissez-faire ball of Corporate wax? While everyone has been screaming about values and less Gov't. No one has been talking about "less" blatant greed and wanton social "disregard" as though piling IT high and dry is the "most important" thing any BEING can possibly do with their LIFE! lol
When it's all about "money" and only that. The people are NO longer "relevant". No wonder history always repeats itself. DEI? Destructive Exploitative Investments, Inc.?
The floor is now open to the "sycophants"!

tony, you're not wrong. cnh is right about our relevance. That's what I was alluding to without alluding to anything. I try to keep out of strong comments in these convo's as its a quick way to turn the entire place toxic. I think most are well aware of where the "Polk Bus" is heading.

Looks to me like a company like Polk, or really any company out there, would be interested in brand loyalty and repeat customers. Especially in this day and age. So it boils down to since DEI took control of the ship this forum has been lost at sea....so to speak?--Gary--
