I decided to get into tubes and went the cheapest route I know which was to purchase a tube kit. My 1st purchase is a Bottlehead Quickie preamp which runs off four 9v and two D cell batteries. It took about 8 hours to build. I have it feeding a Adcom GFA-545 and my SDA2Bs which at TLd. Very impressed with the little preamp so far. Searching for "the" tube at the moment which is turning out to be an interesting hunt. Hopefully I will not have to rob my smoke detectors one late night in the event I lose my 9Vs!

    Jake:

Thanks! I bought a couple of pair of those last week and they should be here this week. Coincidentally I had a pair of those from that seller the week before and I liked them so well I got another order. Would like a pair of Telefunken 3s4s but have not had any luck so far.
