TWC Modem Rental Fee

I just realized TWC in Socal has been charging me a modem rental fee these past couple months for 6$ under my nose! That's utterly bogus! It was free last time I checked, the way it should be. It's outrageous they're charging that much for something that costs 50 bucks. Well then, I'm just going to buy my own. Anyone know which modem to purchase for compatibility? Or any would do?

I have TWC internet here in Kansas City. They have a list of compatible modems on their website. I just ordered the top of the line Motorola Surfboard modem from Newegg which was on sale for around $80.DKG999

I bought my own modem when i noticed the same issue. TWC had a list of approved modems. I picked up a Motorola like dkg999. I would check the TWC webste for the list or give them a call. I noticed my bill dropped about $10.

Thanks for the tip guys. I picked up a Moto SB 6141 so I'll be futureproof for the foreseeable future.2Ch Tube Audio Convert

I have a Motorola Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0 modem hooked up to my TWC. Has worked great for years (except the built in wifi), plus I see faster speeds than the TWC supplied modem.
I think I was charged about $9/month at the time that I just picked my own up.
