Pre Black Friday Deal at American TV got my black friday shopping done

I got a Samsung Series 8000 55 inch led list $2495 for $2195. I payed full price but will get a $300 rebate the day after thanksgiving. I will keep it in the box till then as they said if I find a better deal next week from an authorized dealer on black Friday they will price match it for $100 less. I also got a CsiA6 for $210 open box with a American extended warranty. Here are some pics. We looked at a lot of TV's today and the 8000 had the best picture hands down. If any of you have an American TV nearby you should check them out.

I still can if you can beat that price I can take it back, that's why I'am leaving it boxed up. The A6 was a good deal though right!

I don't keep up with their models much since I swore off Samsung TVs, so I don't know how good the picture is on that TV. That being said, that seems like a lot to pay for something that ISN'T a Panasonic plasma or a 4k set...

That's based on current and near future market conditions, not the quality of the tv as I said I've not seen it.

Plus we are renovating the Man Cave we took in water in this past April, so the main HT will be in the cave. We got 8 inches of rain so we added Drain tile and a 3 sump pump system, a main a secondary and a battery back up. I got the new flooring and wall paneling up next week comes the wall paper, then the Ht system will be set up its been a big mess. the A6 is just in a secondary Ht system as I will hook that bad boy up to the one in the man cave as soon as I'am finished. I will be glad when the remodeling is finished.

That's my price after the $300.00 rebate I will get next Friday, if you can get it cheaper than that then I could get that price matched and I could split the savings with you!!!! I honestly did not see a tv with a better picture than this 8000, and I looked at Sony, LG, Sharp, Vizio, and the Samsung was by far the best. A 4k would be nice but would come with a way heftier price tag.

That's a heck of a deal John they did not have any 4ks available in any of the stores around here not even in the higher end stores. I would need to replace my Denon Avr 891 though as it does of support 4k correct? I might need an AVR upgrade as this A6 is a friggin monster, compared to the A4.

The 4k sets upscale anyway. There is no content for them yet so no need to upgrade the avr yet for just that reason alone. The A6 would love you for it however....

I was wondering if you had checked plasmas, especially since that sweet HT looks like it could be made totally dark.

He didn't mention Panasonic, so possible they didn't have them there in the store. Unfortunately, most shops don't have the Panny plasmas set up to look good anyway, because their margins are lower on those. I bought a Sony LED because it looked better in every store than the Panasonic, even posted about it here. Recently though I went out on a limb and bought the 60" Panny plasma and it's awesome, had to get it in home and calibrate to realize how much better it is.

Don't get me wrong, LEDs have their place but if you can make a plasma work it's the way to go IMO.

Two of the higher end stores had Panasonic flyers in the stores but did not have any in stock they both said that they could get them if I was interested. I wish they would of had at least one in stock Since I could of checked them out, I mean why have flyers without at least a display model to check out?

I have all the big Panny's in stock, including the TOTL models as well.

John I will remember you when it's time to upgrade the AVR, I regret not buying your SC when you had it for sale didn't have to I was running a A4 at the time with A5's and a A3's no problems that Denon did a bang up job on those, but adding that A6 will be a burden on it, does free shipping have a price point? My Mom lives in La, Mesa and could pick stuff up there she visits us once or twice a year.

Yeah I agree with you they say the 8000 is upgradeable I think that's what they said and that's what I read online. I figure the oppo,s won't go on sale, but hope the Cambridge will, at 499.00 I will get the oppo before I pay 500 for the demo Cambridge, as the Azur goes for 800.00 but it sure is worth thier asking price. The wife picked out the tv I was going to settle for another Sony but the Sony was not even close to the Samsung.

I've yet to spend a lot of time with the newer Samsung sets...but how does this set stack up against their F8500 plasma?

The 7100 series and up are nice sets, but the 9000 is on another level completely. I too was a fan (but never owned) of plasma tv's, but the picture quality on the 9000 is superior in every way.
