Hey all...
doesn't everyone just WANT to gather in Kansas City on Sunday, the 25th, to unload a jam-packed 26' U-Haul??
My family and I are headed to KC this coming Sunday to take possession of a rental-duplex... I'll go to work full-time in KC for HBomb on Monday the 19th. Then I come back here at the end of that week to load a truck and get all our **** to KC that weekend.. unloading the 25th. Free beer and pizza.. or beer and BBQ.. or just beer.. for anyone who wants to show up.
I'll be living in KC alone for 4 days (the 20th - 24th) with only the necessities.. a mattress on the floor, and the AV system! I can deal without a microwave... without a washer.. dryer... without a lot of ****... but the Polks, the electronics, the TV and some good books are all making the trip on the first run. I have to admit, living without the wife and kids makes a strong run at competing against living without the Polks... but in this case, I don't have a choice.. I can have the Polks... have to live w/o my wife for 4 days. Bummer. But at least I'll have great sound.
Anyway.... first-class KC BBQ and gratitude for anyone who wants to carry couches and beds and a ****-LOAD of boxes...

I was wondering where you've been Mark. Nice to see you are still alive and kicking.
Wish I could help, but I'll just be finishing up babysitting all the morons at the Texas gathering....
Cheers,
RussCheck your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
I'll confirm two so----far:(
I'm sure we'll have time for a few beers during your seperation and the Bomb shelter is begging for an opinion.:p IMO you are in great shape and not alone so deal with the additional alcohol intake. I may/or may not be part of your day to day but I'll be involved at some point:D

I can definitely help you unload, depending on what my hours are at CC. I can't go to the Texas Polk Gathering because I have dinner theater tickets the night of the 24th, so I'll be in town.

I probably missed this from a previous posting, but what is the new job with HBomb?
Congrats on the new job by the way.
I gotta go take a pee test now for my new job. Yep, drug test required. I'm squeeky clean, unless the test looks for addictions to Polk speakers...then I'm done for!
Good luck guys!

Job is officially Network Engineer for a wireless company/network, but I think it'll entail quite a few different things... whatever it is I can do to help as I learn more and more. I've already been into capital purchasing procedures AND switch power. I'm looking forward to it... lots to learn, chance to get back into hardcore engineering, exciting, growing industry. Plus, as I understand it, Hbomb and I are going to discuss depreciation, too! I'm pretty excited at being able to apply both my EE and MBA to their fullest.
My kids are 6.5 and 3.5... they understand "we're moving", although I don't think they grasp exactly what that entails. I'd moved 3 times by the time I was 7. The most exciting thing to them.... is that Chuck E. Cheese is only 10 minutes away.
I worked in the local office this week with one of the managers from KC. He drove his truck down and offered to take some stuff back... I sent only one thing... the sonosub. If that thing had been an inch longer I couldn't have gotten it in my car even to get it to him at the office! Fit nicely in the back seat of his Tundra, however. Really didn't want to put it in the back of the U-Haul. This coming weekend, the car gets the TV and gear... the gear ALWAYS gets to ride in the car.. everytime I've moved.
PolkThug... thanks for the offer. Our plan is to load on the 24th, and maybe go ahead and make the drive that day (not sure I want to be on the interstate in a U-Haul on a Sunday morning, just in case something happens). We'll unload on the 25th at the convenience of anyone who can help, but I'd think we'd be shooting for late morning, noon, something like that. We have a ton of stuff, but we don't have a ton of stuff that requires more than 2-3 people (hide-a-bed couch, etc). The big thing is the piano (not kidding). Not sure how we're going to get that from the basement/street level driveway to the second-level main living room..... H thought we might sort of be neighbors. The new home is near 87th and Metcalf. -
I basically work at 63rd and Metcalf, and live 10 miles west of there. On Sunday, I work at CC til 7:30. Send me your new address/cell phone#, and I'll give you a ring when I get off work. I should arrive just in time to help with the last box and eat your pizza and drink your beer.
