Sad day for me. Selling my unused LNIB VPI Scout 1.1. This is the latest Scout model that was released earlier this year. The Scout 1.1 offers many improvements over the already well acclaimed original acrylic platter Scout, including the new heavier aluminum platter, an improved bearing and the JMW9T tapered tonearm.
My unit was purchased from an authorized dealer and was intended to be the pride of a second audio system, to match with the IFI iPhono. Unfortunately, as some audiophiles will attest to, some dream second systems are just that and never come to fruition. Its time to move on and I have just sold the IFI iPhono. Hence, the sale of this turntable.
I did open the box when it arrived to ensure the contents were intact and like every audiophile, I was like a kid in a candy store and had to see it. It was repacked shortly thereafter. No cartridge was ever mounted and no LPs were played on it. For all practical purposes, it is new but since I opened the box and viewed the content, I would term it mint/LNIB.
The buyer will be getting a LNIB turntable with all the included factory accessories at a substantial discount. In essence, you are getting a mint Scout 1.1 with all the improvements, for less than the price of a new original Scout.
I am offering it first on the forums and pricing it to sell quickly.
So its yours for $1,585. Shipping is buyers responsibility. Will be shipping from Southern California (about 45 lb). Shipping fee is probably about $45 west coast and about to $75 east coast. Paypal, if used, add 3%. Message me if you have any questions.

Hmm. Possibly interested. Do you know if you can run the outside ring to hold down the vinyl during play back and does it come with a center clamp?
-
Yes, it comes with the standard black center clamp, as well as the alignment jig and tools, power cord and manuals (see pics below)
I am not sure about the vpi periphery ring clamp. I may have to check with VPI on that. Let me know if you have other questions.

I'm listening to my Traveler right now. VPI rocks, I have an RCM of theirs as well. GLWTS.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Nice table, the uni-pivot arm is easy to set up and tracks very well, if the platter has a slight recess on the outer edge, I'd say it will accommodate the Periphery Ring.
Would be best to make a call to verify though. GLWTS -
Thanks, guys!
It was a tough decision to sell. VPI makes great tables. Well designed, quality construction, great value and made here in USA.
Hoping this will go to a fellow polkie, so that we can at least get a review on it. : ) -

Larry, take your time when setting up and dialing in your new table. The Unipivot arm takes some getting used to, 'njoy your new toy. -

+1 to what Mike said.
Larry, with your analog experience, I am confident you can set up the unipivot table without any problem. But just in case, Michael Fremer has an instructive DVD on turntable set-up, in which he set up 3 different tables, including a VPI table (Scoutmaster) with the unipivot arm - "21st Century Vinyl"
Have fun this weekend with the new table!
