I used the search and saw a few threads speaking positively about this dual mono preamp but they were over a decade old. I was wondering if I should jump on or pass on this preamp that popped up locally for $500. I'm interested in the phono section and a working remote for a change! Could my money be better spent elsewhere? I already have the dared sl2000a tube pre.

Excuse my brevity, I'm writing this from my iphone. Thanks guys!

That's a good price for the piece, well below the current market value. No tubes, but a nice pre amp.

I owned 2 of them, both were very enjoyable. That's a bargain.

When it comes to certain brands, I wouldn't hesitate to own any of their stuff, MF is one such brand.

I was never in love with my Dared SL2000a. I've rolled in some great tubes from Brock and still, I was never really floored by them. I actually preferred my Adcom GFP-750. One thing I can't stand is the noise. I've tried a couple of different amps with it, and it still comes in way to hot gain wise with very audible hum from 10 feet away. Another thing is the remote doesn't work, and no one is able to find replacements. I'm just done with it at this point and want to get into vinyl again.

Thanks for all the help guys! I'm going to pick it up today.

That is a great price for that pre. Did you pick it up? If so, how does it compare to your Dared or Adcom?
