Questions on the TSx550t components and wiring

I have added two of the TSx550t floorstanding speakers as my front speakers in a 5.1 HT setup.
I am looking for info on the internals and components of that speaker. I am looking for this info because one of the tweeters has quit working. The Tweeter checks out as bad on an ohms meter, also when wired directly to another source. I have to wonder why it burnt out ? My avr (pioneer avr SC05) is set at safety 2. The speaker is rated at 300 watts input. I also have the same ( a burnt tweeter) at my CS2 center channel which is rated at 175 watts. Now, whether it is all entry level or whatever, it should not have gone bad with the power source (avr) I am running as both speakers far exceed the avr's rated output, again set at safety level 2.
Helpful Ideas ?

More tweeters burn out due to lack of power than too much power. If you had your volume knob set too high, it could have sent a clipped signal to those tweeters and destroyed them. Trying to run any AVR or receiver too loud will destroy just about any speaker.
When you start getting above the halfway point on your volume knob, you start entering the risky area of it's capabilities. When you get to the 3/4 area, your in the danger zone, on just about any AVR or receiver. -
On Pioneer receivers, I personally think anything above the -10 mark is starting to enter the danger zone. Of course that's dependent on the source material played. Highly unlikely you got 2 different products with a defective tweeter. I'm more inclined to believe it's a volume control problem, as in too loud.
Call Polks customer service in the morning.
Mindless,
We tried explaining how this stuff works but you don't seem to grasp the concept yet between manufacturers rated watts, avr rated watts, or that darn volume dial. Please read up and educate yourself, will save you money down the road.HT SYSTEM-
