I picked up an Integra CDC 3.4 off CL real cheap. I wasn't suprised when I hooked it up that it would skip. What did suprise me was when I opened it up to clean the lens, The lens assembly was from Sony. I'm not suprised Onkyo uses Sony parts, but I was suprised it was clearly marked as such.

    When the 1st CD "walk man" came out my parents could not afford it, all my friends had one :(. For Xmas I got a Radio Shack "Realistic" walkman kind of bummed till I opened it. It was all Sony, busted my buddies Sony open same exact parts to the "t" 1/2 the price.

    Why reinvent the wheel when you can OEM

    I do believe my HK hd7300 has Sony parts in it also. I think you will find lots of brands do too

    Sony and Phillips are just about the only manufacturers of CD transports. So, yeah. You're going to find that in just about anything you crack open (Someone else will probably pop up and point out someone I've forgotten that makes their own, but it's rare... Linn, Meridian maybe? )
