Living room makeover

I've been tackling the unpopular task of painting the whole house. Over the last year, the 3 bedrooms and bathroom were completed. Working my way down, it was time for the living room and a complete makeover. Here are two shots of where the project stood before anything was done. All I had in there was my 2 channel rig and a cheap Ikea chair. It was time for all of it to go bye bye (still debating on what pieces to sell off). As of writing this post, i'm finishing the last few details of painting, the door frame. Everything else is done. My order with La Z Boy arrives Saturday coming up. In the photo that shows the stairs going up, I purchased an Entertainment Console (fancy name for wood table, I guess) that will sit against the wall (stairs in back of it). On it will eventually go the Polk Woodbourne, when it's released. Oh, big shout out to Sherwin Williams...love their paint!

Stay tuned for updated photos next weekend.

p.s.

Painting sucks!

A warning label should be included on all Lay-Z-Boy recliners. Sitting in this chair, especially in the reclined position, will cause drowsiness. At least mine do.

Looks like a nice space to work with. I also love SW paints, I used their "mold" resistant paint to do our living room a number of years ago. I needed to do some color matching with the painted wood semi-gloss built ins in the room and they matched a non-gloss paint to it "perfectly" from a small sample. Good stuff!

    Lots of WORK though!

Nice work, and i always like the ability to open the door and get lots of sunlight in a room.

Never minded painting until diabetes affected nerves in my hands and holding a paint brush caused burning, needle like pain, usually I never feel it, just something about the way you hold a paint brush.

Sherwin williams BTW, is one of the few places to get voc free paint, no fumes is mandatory with debs breathing.

It is amazing how long building materials of all kinds offgas terrible chemicals.

Yeah, I have La Z Boy in the Home Theater. No doubt it should come with a drowsiness warning.

I remember how bad paint fumes were years ago, but not with SW paints. Every room I painted over the last year, barely any smell. When I painted the living room, the house was closed up and not an issue.

Painting is now complete. I have a set of three light switches to change out one evening this week along with shopping for and installing new blinds and curtains for the bay window and side window.

Also found out the Polk Woodbourne has already been released. Amazon Prime...here we come!

The living room project is practically complete. Furniture just got delivered. New paint, power outlets, light switches, curtains, blinds and furniture. Just need a little art work on the walls and a few other small items.

I ordered the Polk Woodbourne which is scheduled to arrive around December 2nd. Will do my review of that separately from this post. That will sit on the entertainment console that you can see part of in the lower left hand corner of the photo.

What a difference! When are you going to be featured on HGTV? Warm, inviting, a true makeover!

    Enjoy!
