Which brings up another aspect, people get pissed if you don't answer your phone or reply to a text. They expect it to be glued to your hip at all times. I absolutely refuse to do that. I don't make myself available to anyone 24/7, nor would I even want to. People spend way too much time on their phones instead of taking care of business....or just enjoying life. It's become like crack, people simply can't put it down or turn it off....stop checking it every 30 seconds.

If I'm out to dinner with friends, I'll tell them to put it away or get the F out. Nothing more aggravating than trying to have a conversation with someone who's looking down at his/her phone constantly, not paying attention.

I just buy phones from Virgin Mobile..

So I get email, internet, FB, texting, GPS, and a phone for $38/month. perfect for me.

Don't really understand the iPhone thing with the $100+ monthly bills..unless I got reimbursed from work

Yeah, that's what I have too. I don't need much in the way of a cell phone - occasional texts and voice. But I like Internet access for looking things up on the go. And Virgin's phones are good enough for the money. It isn't the fastest and reliable, but I would have to spend 2-3 times more to get that. I can live without for now.

The only thing that I lack is hotspot (only a limited amount of phone from Virgin support that), and International roaming for when I travel for work. I really want the hotspot feature for my and my wife's tablet.

For International roaming I have a European Android phone equivalent to my Virgin smartphone. It was $150 for the phone, and about $13 per month when using it. I have to put at least $5 per year to keep it active. It sucks because Europe has generally good plans that are cheaper compared to the US. My EU phone also has International roaming - although each call is expensive.

I had to train work people to STOP calling the cell phone.
I home office and have an IP work phone sitting here. All the cellphone
retards never call anything but cellphone numbers. I guess someone sitting
at their desk instead of wandering from Starbucks to Starbucks is just an alien
concept to them. I either answer or call back immediately most days from 8 am to 10 pm.
