Things were looking bleak. All seemed lost, but then Batkid arrived, kicked buttocks, and saved us all.

Go Batkid.

    Happy news of the day.

I was going to post this in the Thor thread replying to Tony comment:
Your not really expecting a super hero that rescues cats from trees are you Dan ?
"Comics, as in the super hero type were all born during our world wars, so that constant battle between good and evil is the main gig for comics."

This is my favorite story of the year. The extent taken by everyone is just phenomenal. Best wishes to the little dude.

Btw....in the other thread, I mentioned comics as always having the good against evil theme. Which even this story does as the kid goes off to fight crime, rescue people, and get the bad guys.

Also, go on Make a wish's site, people crashed it responding to this story but read the message they put up. You can't help but love this organization.

Yes, it seems to have affected a lot of people. It is great to see something positive for a change.

I just heard on the radio on how this was put together. Given that this was put together in a few days, it is quite amazing how everything just "clicked". Remember, this is a city where patching a pothole may take years of planning and red tape. Apparently, everyone from the Mayor to the SF Giants to the Lamborghini dealer, knew what their part entail and got out of each other's way. There was no issue with the thousands of people on the streets. The SFPD, from the chief to the officers, all contributed to make this a special day for the little boy (I read the chief really ham it up for his part).

More things like this need to become so common we ignore them.

I cant imagine how excited he was. If I had been in the area, I would have volunteered in a heartbeat.

Finally something GOOD in the news.

One last comment. Today's paper referred to him as the 'Dark Tyke', which, for whatever reason, I really liked.
