Ya know ?
There's nuttin' as nice as kickin back groovin to tunes on my Bryston Martin Logan set up--ah ecstacy !!!
.......................................
How ever i "MUST" admit that when i go to the other room and turn on my Adcom Yamaha set up with the fabulous Polk Rt-7's and a sub--i still smile and get goose bumps on certain tunes...Those damned ol' Polks are one of Polk's better offerings by far...The imaging and sounstage--wow !! way accurate mid range.
.......................................
So for you people out there who are feeling lackng because you don't have a super high end system--Chill out !!
There is a difference but not that much.
My ML's are among the world's most elite but on the other hand the Rt-7's
(with a good sub) is not quite so far behind...

Using the same system to compare how does the 545-II compate to the Byrston?
-
one wouldn't think so , but they do compair..The Bryston is by far a overall better amp but the reason in a 6,ooo dollar price tag.but it also has some of the same brand parts in it as the Adcom.
ther have rodersietein metal film resistors and polypropolyne capacitiors and similar arrays. Gintantc toroidal transformers and the elimination of coupling capacitors which create subtile but detectible distortion. The Litle Adcom is a hundred watter (actually around 117 when its pumped..The Bryston is 600 watts --Both measures by root mean squared of course (RMS) which is at (if i remember correctly) 78.3 percent of total power output.. The Bryston kills in the bottom end and is a lot smoother overall .But the little Adcom is also quite punchy down there, probably because it also has bi polar transistors instead of mosfets ..Bi poles just outperform in the bottom end smoothness and viserality.. Both companies know about that mosfet thing
mosfets are fantastic but a little weaker in the bottom end..The bryston is quite smoother all around with a mid range to die for because it has so much oomph. but on the other hand the Adcom
is not at all humiliated by the Bryston ,it's mid are close to perfect and has a bottom end punch too but has to work a little harder because it only has a hundred watts so it gets its exercise..
Both amps are way above most stuff that's out there ..i wouldn't trade eithe one of them for anything except maybe a Big Halcro..
They both have smooth clean highs with the litte Adcom being a tadsmidgen on the brighter side (which i kinda lke ) but its not very notcible especially to the untrained ear..or should i say unexpierenced ear..but never the less ya canthear s___ in ya got muffeled speakers so you need a good match--- also the bryston is a little finiky and is very unforgiving on bad or mediocre recordings and the Adcom can somehow deal with just about anything --thats one i will never understand how that works..System #2

Isn't that the truth. I noticed that in my Adcom GFA-7700.
