THANK YOU for everyone's support for Ian from bottom of my heart
Fri, 11/01/2013 - 22:39 — Grant Fidelity

Ian's spine surgery has been successfully completed at Calgary Foothills Hospital with the best medical team available on Nov 8th Friday. The waiting time out of the surgery suite is the longest 10 hours in my life but I have had a chance to see life transformation with modern medicine and human being's powerful mind. When Ian's surgery was about to complete, I saw a bright beam of sunshine from the gray snowy sky and I knew then ALL IS WELL. Thank you for everyone's prayer which has been answered and your caring love has been felt deeply by our hearts. Thank you all again. Ian is in recovery at hospital now and we hope he can return home soon. - Rachel

The most recent update from grantfidelity.com:

    Update about Ian's cancer journey:

I am now mostly at local hospice to take care of Ian for his final life journey while cancer is taking away his physical body from this dimension. It is beyond sadness to see he is fading away from my life. Although Grant Fidelity has always put customers' needs as first priority, at this time, I must put Ian's needs to the absolute first. You may expect minor delay in email replies and inbound and outbound parcel processing time increased from 2 business days to 5 business days from our Calgary, Canada location until further notice. Shipping from Hong Kong for tubes and DAC's and some amps won't be affected.

I deeply appreciate your kind understanding of the situation and I can rest assure every customer that your warranty will be honored as described on our website - just with some delay at this very difficult time.

Should you wish to pray for Ian or leave him a message, please use subject as 'For Ian - ' when sending email. I will read them to him at his bed side.

A big 'thank you' and best wishes to all,
    Rachel @ Grant Fidelity

Dont know the folks, but it sounds as if he has been blessed with a wonderful partner to walk through his journey through this.

Will throw up a prayer in a little while, and may god be with all of those close to the situation.

    From Grant Fidelity:

With indescribable sadness and sorrow, I would like to announce that my dearest Ian Michael Grant passed away peacefully in his sleep at Calgary Agape Hospice at 11pm, July 31st, 2014. Ian spent over 2 months at hospice and enjoyed the park nearby each day until last Saturday evening. I was with him all the time 24/7 so he was never lonely at hospice. Ian built great friendship with some hospice residences and many hospice staff during his stay at Agape Hospice. This is also a very very special time for me that I will cherish forever.

On the night of Ian's passing, there was loud rolling thunder at 7pm. I believe that was Ian's calling to exit this world - with un-matched deep bass. I am so relieved that Ian now is in heaven with no pain, no cancer and pure love and joy.

I will forever remember Ian's blue eyes and kindness, and will love him in my heart beyond the end of time. No words can describe my sadness now.

In the next while, I will need time to gather myself together again to get on with life forever without Ian. I respectfully ask those who would like to contact me to only use email. I will do my best to keep up with everything during mourning and grieving, but please give me some time to find normality in life again at this saddest time of my life.

I had a few phone conversations with Ian, and he was as nice as he was passionate about audio; prayers for his family and friends.

Ian was one of the truly good guys in audio. I had a long face to face conversation with him several years ago. He knew he could get rich quickly importing then closing down, over and over again. Or, work hard make a reasonable living and be honorable. Ian chose the second path and the audio community is better for it.
