I'm looking to get a set up disc and trying to decide if the Avia is worth the price or will Sound and Vision or any other do the trick? Feedback on any discs out there would be appreciated.

S&V and Avia are both made by Ovation. The Avia disk is supposed to be a little better, but I've found the S&V disk to be an excellent resource for the price. Video Esentials is supposed to be a great set up/calibration DVD as well.

    David,

    Check this out...

You've got to consider the source when comparing the data though. I went with DVE for $25 and got a free DTS demo disc thru Home Theater magazine back in November. Don't know if they are still running the offer. Yeah, the DVE menus might be a little trickier to navigate thru, but all in all I like it.

FYI, the LFE calibration tone level runs a little hot with DVE so I did have to compensate for that. There is a whole thread over at Home Theater Forum about that.
