Been way too long since I have been here. Not been absent for much reason other than money. I'm fairly happy with my system in my tiny concrete room, and when im on here my eyes run faster than my paychecks, and I end up on the ramen, canned soup, hot dog, and other people's houses diet. I bought a Money pit of a project car, as some may remember, and have been more focussed on it when I can be. I will soon be selling it for little more than i paid for it, but much less than put into it, as I need to get one old enough to import to the states. Once its oobtained, i will make it as mechanically sound as i can, and the stereo is already being pieced together as I have cash to spend. The Navy has been keeping me fairly busy as of late, with full day meetings, and 8-18 hour days sometimes up to 6 days a week preparing for Admirals and officials walking through our spaces, although the workload seems to be mellowing out for a bit, now time to catch up on our projects that were pushed to the back-burner so we could look good for the brass. I'm still part of a rugby club, although between work and rugby, my knee is in bad shape for the time being and i have been placed on light duty for the last 9 weeks and have 3 more at least, with regular physical therapy, and hopefully ann MRI to see the real problem(navy medical wont spend the money for it unless they have to). Also being over here, not much options for ordering or buying audio eqpt., as shipping is exorbatant or not available, so i buy last gen monster cables as they hit our exchange clearence rack. i have 2 of their flatscreen power series 4 plug surge protectors, for 10$ a piece, and 2 of the same series 2 plug units, which are basically a 2 outlet adapter for the outlet, with surge protection for A/C and cable tv. a couple 50 foot rolls of the 14/2 wire, for too much still, but better than the CCA that any and darn near everything else out here is. Also a toslink cable of theirs for 17 bucks. I used the wire to mak a four foot 14/4 cable for my center, with the matching bananas at $2.50 for a set of 4, three sets in total. Decided not to bring my monitor 30's or def-techs from my dad's house out here, so my surrounds are now M10's, or whatever the R/T/M series small bookshelf is called. My car will have a little bit more planning and thought put into it, as im ordering stuff in advance. Plenum rated monoprice 14/2 wire for all speakers, and there CL2 rated digi-coax for amp to pre-outs(I know there are much better cables out there, but these are solid quality, and easy on the wallet). Speakers will be alpine type G all the way around, with their sub-kit, box, 12" type G speaker, and matching amp, found for 269.00 euro. it has an amp kit too, but those cheapo rca's will go to a friend who no matter how much I try to educate, doesnt think that cables are a big deal. Thinks that I need to shut my mouth because car audio and home audio are completely different. That may be (partially)true, but the sheer principle of conductivity and signal transfer doesnt change, a pure copper wire of the same guage as an aluminum or CCA wire, will have much better power handling, and everything else, and I dont need to explain that to anyone here. I also dont want or need my bass to be the biggest and most thumpin on the block, i want it to blend in with the rest of the system. As for the car I'm getting, its im much better shape than the one I have now, and with a bit of the work i wanna do already done. It's a 1988 Lada Niva. same specs as mine, only its a 4 speed with 4:33, mine is 5 speed with 4:31 gearing. The new one also has a good coat of paint, and a 2 inch lift, solving the 2 of my problems. I will put a weber 32/36 dgv carby on it, which i have picked up used and am currently rebuilding. I'll be moving back to the good ol' U.S of A. in July of next year, and camt wait to be able to find a place where i can set up my stereo right, and be able to work on my car. Still with the Russian girl as well, but who knows for how long, we bicker a good bit, and for the time being, I cant bring her to the states, even so, I will be deploying for long periods of time after going through some training, so it would be almost pointless. I tested for promotion to third class for the first time in September, I feel fairly confident in myself, but we will see for sure in about 10 days.

shes in the ukraine, has been almost three months, shes restless and irritable, like all girls, only it gets magnified by the fiery russian temper. kinda upset with me that i have no plans to bring her with me, because if i wanted to i could, just need to get married and then its easy. that being said, you wont see me getting married when, A: i am 21 years old; B: i have never lived with the person; and C: as much as i trust them, when they only complain of their life, where they live, and their lack of work, it gets kinda hard to believe that there arent some alterior motives in wanting a military spouse who will take them to a place far away with benifits and a pretty good chance at getting a job on any base we go to. i dont think that way about her, but at the same time, i see how a lot of people are who have been raised in these socialized countries full of handouts, and now that the handouts are running out, they get pretty upset(all these violent riots about college no longer being covered anyone) and also, she comes from a country that in general doesnt care for or even hates us, and two. when i take that kind of stuff into consideration, mariage seems like a bad idea for the time being, especially when we fight like we sometimes do

didnt get promoted, missed advancement by 12 points, 3.0 on the eval didnt help. 79th percentile on the exam though

Welcome back, sometimes it does us some good to step away for a bit, be it by choice or not. I've been non participating for a while too. Life just gets busy sometimes. But home is where you make it, my home is here!
