It's amazing how many people need to learn how to drive again....

Well driving to work today sure was fun, we had about 4" of snow overnight and cars were sliding into intersections, into the ditch,
spinning their tires at intersections like that help lots( it's looks like polish glass) driving either well below the speed limit or in the case of the 4x4 and SUV well over the limit.

I'm quite fortunate as I have about a 5 minute drive to work.

Yup it going to be fun till everyone get back into winter driving mode.

The one thing I miss about Texas drivers and hate about Kansas drivers is in Texas people do not drive in the fast lane doing at or below the speed limit as they know they will get ran over. It is the norm in Kansas City unfortnately.

Oh yeah speaking of snow, THey shut the freeway down in Kansas City if the snow fall is above 4 inches. So even if you know how to drive in the snow you are forced to take side streets where the non-snow driving people drive.

I have driven in 6 inches of snow in Plano and drove 32 miles to Coppell with no issues.

You should see these fools in Southern Az try to drive in a 1/2 inch of snow!!! LOL I grew up in STL, so my winter driving skills are very good. These locals have no concept of using the gas and NOT the brakes to re-gain steering, how to keep momentum going, and how to "rock" a stuck car, or to steer into loose snow to re-gain some traction on a packed road. Driving in snow takes serious finesse that requires real-world experience to master.

Of course here in DFW, not much snow or ice problems.
But everyone is always playing with their phones.
People are always slow after the light changes because
they are busy texting. Add to the fact about 40% of everyone
out driving around is from Mexico. It's a free for all.

Cell phone + snow; they may as well just toss hand grenades out of their window.

Ever see those blokes south of Pa/Jersey deal with an inch or two of snow. It's like snow is some kind of Alien weapon that NO ONE has ever seen. lol

Up north. Three inches isn't even something we call a real snowfall! Have to have at least six on the ground before you even think about slowing down. And you don't really begin to worry till you get over a foot--which means you might take a little longer to bull yourself out of your driveway! lol

Chicago too, we are definitely no stranger to snow. Yet, every year same old stuff. People going to fast, or the ones with 4 wheel drive suddenly have a God complex. As aggravating as that is, Rain is worse. People drive in the rain like it's a foot of snow. You have to know how to control your vehicle under all circumstances and what it's capable of, that's the bottom line, and most don't.

I drive West in the evenings going home and I see it daily. Its like it is a surprise and they do not have sun visors in their car. I had never seen that as a problem before coming to KS as well.

I like a lot of stuff about KS except the taxes and drivers.

I spent most of my life in Penna. so have driven in lots of snow storms. Down here in the South, the biggest problem is that no one increases their following distance. They drive too close when it's dry and don't back off when it's slippery. Even a light rain will cause half a dozen accidents at rush hour in the Charlotte area. Forget it when it snows.

You mean the tailgaters.....pretty much the same anywhere. Here in Chicago on any expressway the left lane is cruising at 80+ mph and a line of cars are 5 ft of each others bumpers. All it takes is for one dude to drop a cig or screw with his smart phone.

I've seen guys shaving in the rear view mirror doing 70 mph, women putting on makeup.....even getting dressed. Men with the newspaper opened over the steering wheel. Pure idiocy that not only puts your life in jeopardy but others too. Like they say....you can't fix stupid, you just have to avoid it whenever you can.

I have noticed that the overall majority of vehicles that end up in the ditch are SUV's. Dumb asses think they can over drive the situation because they drive a SUV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love women but they are the worst when it comes to driving in any weather but give them a SUV and add snow to the mix and its a wreck waiting to happen.

Think back to the days before front wheel drive and all wheel drive. **** tires and huge amounts of torque and people managed to get to work or wherever.

It's dumbing down of America in a way. I think it was the governor of New York that comes on the news and told people to dress warm because its so cold out!! WTF If your that stupid you should freeze to death.
