Trouble removing grill clips

I'm having trouble removing some grill clips on my monitor 7s. I got 1 out with a claw hammer. On 2 others the balls on the end are missing and there is nothing to grab with the hammer. I tried a small pair of vise grips but they keep slipping off when I pull.
Any suggestions?

Well easy what I've done before is to carefully drill a small hole in the peg then take a screw of course just a bit larger then the hole screw it in just a couple of turns and gently pull it out it works every time. Other way is to heat up say a finish nail using a pair of pliers and a lighter insert it it the peg head first let it cool gently pull out the peg.
Now of course this only works if the peg is plastic.. -
Yep, plastic tabs on monitor 7s. I try your suggestion. If for some odd reason it doesn't work I'll just go with velcro tabs.

The way I removed a broken one of these several years ago was to drill into it with something like a 1/8" bit, then take a 10-32 tap to it, place a 3/4 nut over it, then a fender washer with a #10 sized hole, use a 10-32 socket head cap screw and a nut. Put the nut on the screw, thread the screw through the washer and large nut into the freshly-tapped hole in the broken post, and then tighten the nut, and it will act like a little puller to lift the insert out of the hole into the space inside the nut which should be larger than the diameter of the peg/post. See below for cross section:
I've never had this not work, and the only thing to add is you might put some masking tape on the side of the nut against the cabinet to prevent any scratch in the surface.
