5000IHT anyone got one?
Hi,
Looking to get the Surround Bar 5000 for my father in law, this is questions for anyone that has one.
He is not into messing around with gadget so we need the setup to be simple and really not even interact with it. We need it as simple as possible.
How i was going to setting it up:
Feeding audio via optical direct from TV,
make the speaker learn his TV remote volume up/down and mute commands.
Then leave it switched on all the time,
never turn it off.
So
1. If you leave the speaker switched on will it stay on even if the TV is turned off, or does this speaker go to sleep, will it auto wake up?
2. If the power goes out does the speaker remember its last setting like always switched on, will it power back up again and just work without messing with it?
Is anyone using it in this way.
Can this speaker do what I need it to do or is there a better speaker.
He is using a Panasonic 37" LED with a normal digital cable box.

I have this Sound bar. If you program the sound bar to work with the TV and cable remotes, then you can change the volume of the sound bar with the cable and TV remotes. You can also program the sound bar to turn off and on when you turn off and on the TV. So when you turn the TV off, the sound bar will automatically turn off also. The same goes for when you turn the TV on.
