Let me 1st point out that I'm in no way a wood worker so please be kind. This is for a 2nd system where
I can change components or speakers as my mood dictates. Also it's not finished yet I still need to finish
the edges of the shelves. I used MDF (2- 3/4" pieces glued together to make 1 1/2" thick shelves) and
Poplar.

The rack is 39" high
Spacing - The bottom shelf is 12" and 9" between the other 2
The shelves were cut 21" wide by 19" deep but will be bigger once I add trim
3/4" or 1/2" I haven't decided yet.
I had Home Depot do all the rough cuts so I came home with 8-2'x2' pieces.
These were glued and cut then to size using a straight edge clamp and circular saw.
The legs are 1x3 and 1x2 poplar joined with biscuits and glue.
I bought a cheap biscuit from Harbor Freight.

You can never get the glued edge straight so I ran the glue joint thru the table saw.
This way you can't see it wasn't exact and looks great. (at least to me)
I used pre-finished 3/4" oak quarter round between the shelves. This way all the weight
is carried down to the floor. So that the #14 x 3" brass screws are not the sole support
of the weight on each shelf.

19" deep, good call. You need that for some of the bigger amps. I have been looking at audio racks and a lot of them are just too shallow. The only other option I may put on mine is casters which seems to be a rare commodity on audio furniture. Cheers.

My almost completed rack. I'll finish it next weekend
I had already bought my wheels for the rack to make it easier access the vinyl behind the rack.
I just might make dollies for the Polk's a well.
