Yup. That's right. This could very well be the end of the quest for gear. So, just be forewarned. Here is a chance to own the heart of what could be a world class, reference quality rig. I've had this gear running my Quad ESl 988's for awhile. The Heaths are 25wpc but are capable of driving just about any speaker I can think of....
Dodd Battery Preamp - 1600 (shipped, lower 48)
This is the original version. MSRP on this was 3600 new. I've heard most of Gary's preamps (and amps) and I think the axiom you get what you pay for is very applicable with Gary's products. That said, I haven't heard the new one. This pre takes getting used to. The lack of AC noise is eerie at first but the sound is nothing short of glorious. Original box, manual, remote and wall wart.
One-off, Dodd rebuilt, Heathkit W-5M, 25wpc tube mono amps
A chance to own something that nobody else has. Using the original circuit, Gary used all new, upgraded parts. The only original parts are the chassis and the Peerless iron which are, arguably, the most sought after transformers ever. Whatever. They sound amazing. Bring on your CJ Premier amps. Your Audio Research...whatever. These get it right. Eva Cassidy will make you cry through these. So, BDT, if they are so freakin' great, why you selling? Simplicity. I'm tired of dicking with gear.I want to flip a switch, sit down and listen. Period. Tube gear courts dicking around with. I don't have the time or the energy. I want someone to enjoy these. Someone who will appreciate them for what they are. They aren't cheap at 1100 a pair (I paid far more) but, again, I've owned the big name tube amps and I like these better....and they don't need to sit in my closet for a decade collecting dust but I'm not doing to give them away. I don't really want to ship so local pickup is good or I'll drive a reasonable distance. If shipping is unavoidable, it's at your expense.
Here is the original thread on these:

MIT MH-750 (tube optimal) 8' Speaker Cables. - 350, shipped (lower 48)
Perfect match for the Heaths. Only drawback is that they aren't very flexible. Not biwire cables. I've got the box and I THINK the ICONN connectors (I've got bannanas on the cables now). Don't hold me to the ICONNs but I think I have them. No deduction if I don't. If you buy these with the Heaths (smart move) I'll knock off 100 bucks.
MIT Terminator 2 biwire/biamp speaker cables.
These are 8 or 10 feet....I think 8 though. 2 pair of connections at each end. Good condition....I'll clean as much dust off them as I can..... 200 shipped?
Pics to follow.

Are you sure you want to sell these Troy? After they are gone, well that's it. These would be too sweet for me to part with, kind of like my monoblocks. Gary Dodd does some fantastic work. The Gear... Not to pump my own nads, but, yeah, 3K for gear of that quality......you could spend 10K and not get that sound.

John,
Yes and no. I mean, the Heaths are special. REALLY special but that said, I don't want to just stick them in a closet for the rest of my life. I don't listen to the rig as much as I used to and what time I do have, I want to devote to the music and not the gear...if that makes sense. Plus, when I get the Amazings up and running, they may well be the speakers in the cave. The Heaths aren't quite up to that task. LSiM's-yes. Plats-no.

You might be surprised by them I have heard a set of plats being driven by 20 watt mono tube amps that sounded glorious. The Gear... I wouldn't rule it out but, like I said, I seek simplicity. I'm going with an integrated...
