Threaded nutserts - standard on TL?

While speaking with another Polkie last night he asked if I had used Larry's (? apologies if I'm getting name wrong) rings when reworking the 1.2TL's. I did not for a couple reasons.
1) The cabinets I have already are equipped with threaded nutserts on the midwoofers.
2) Wasn't sure they were still available.
Right now the 1.2's are back together and have been for a few weeks. I've been listening and enjoying, but will be pulling them apart again to finish the retrofit and upgrades once the new inductors arrive from VR3.
Anyway, back to my question - I've searched some and po(l)ked around but haven't found the answer.
Were nutserts standard on the TL's or any other line?
Is there an advantage to removing them and using the rings?
Thanks,
WW
(miserable setup in the office - hope to move these to a larger room down here at the shop soon).

My SRS came with threaded inserts. i haven't checked my 1.2TL's yet. I removed them and replaced with hurricane nuts. The threaded inserts in mine were little more than garbage. I believe they caused more problems than they prevented. i have not used larry's rings, but knowing the physics behind them they would absolutely be better than the factory inserts. hurricane nuts work well also but i believe the rings would be a touch better.
Your MW's look very flat on most of the drivers. Not shiny like most. Some of your dustcaps look to be dented in. If so they can be easily pulled back out. There are different processes but i use a vacuum. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Thanks for the response. Yes, the MW's still need work. 5 are the new drivers and the rest vintage. I've not pulled out any dust caps yet but plan to on phase two. I've sourced 3 more vintage drivers so might end up will all vintage MW's when I'm done. Undecided yet.
Do you know if the rings are still available? Seems I read a thread they were not - but ?

Contact Larry directly (Toolfan) and ask. He has had some leftovers laying around but not sure what he has left."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
