I have a good many Vintage carver amps like 4.0T, M1.0, 2.0, M400a (2). Though they sound decent, they leave me un-thrilled for 2 ch listening. At the same time generally love vintage Marantz gear, i currently have a AV/MM 9000 set for HT. This set, though very clean and detailed leaves something to be desired in the dynamics department for HT. Has anyone here used the Vintage Carver for HT and if so what are the opinions. Some comparing to differences as compared to 2 ch use may be usefull as well. Thanks for any input. i know i could just hook it up and try it, but that is a pretty big undertaking without some idea I may like it better than I do for 2 ch or better than the Marantz.

I am using a AV-705x Carver 5 channel amp to drive my LSi's. It works and performs great IMHO. That said its a bit newer than yours.

I do however ALSO have a M1.0t which when it was working it sounded PHENOMENAL with my LSi speakers. I am going to suggest looking at getting those amps refreshed as at this point the capacitors are probably past their best years and are due for a new set.

Just refreshing your amps may bring them back to life, however if they are not your cup of tea, you could also sell them to look into something that is instead.

I love my M1.0t and will probably be keeping it for a long time, and who knows may want to add a couple more to the family as I think the M series amps look kinda sexy and perform VERY WELL.
