I told you guys I picked up a pair of Audio Quest 10' speaker cables w/ factory bananas and pins for $10 @ a garage sale a few weeks ago. After some real listening at various levels I did not like them ,they added a scratchingness( not the tweeters breaking up) or a duller sound and returned to my 14 gu regular stock. While cruising E-Bay I came across a 8' of MIT w/ also same factory ends for $29 at a BIN price.Since I know a lot of you guys use this brand I was wondering and thinking should one 1 cable be bought never to be assuerd of matching this same cable but would 1 side improve what I already have. I also noticed that most lenghts come as 8 footers and for my longer run I think a 10' would be comfortable. Does anyone EVER just use 1 cable then just something else or is this in the realm of stupidity.Let me know I can take it but it does look like at least 1/2 of a bargin.

Nobody buys one length unless it's for a center channel and matches the front left and right. So yeah....realm of stupidity in my book.

Buying one will ensure you never find a matching pair... :)

There's a reason why some sell name brand cables that cheap, it's because they sound like garbage LW., or they are defective in some way. Just call Douglasconnections and be done.

That's what I really thought and did not have high hpoes. Your right after the mods inprogress and after the new year I will consider either Doug's or Signal Cable for a real engineered matching wire set which will be for my best price point. I knew it but needed that slap again. Looking for bargins all the time only works a fraction of the time. Well $10 down.Still not paying for anything on the horizon so no harm there. Thanks again...I tried again and the tweeters are still not in stock yet, now possibly mid Nov but will have enough to keep the faithful supplied when they arrive so says Polk C/S...

Given your experience with AQ, I'd recommend you try Kimber 4TC, or one of the cheaper (CV series?) versions of it. AQ solid conductors are better suited for someone looking for more treble sparkle---at least in my experience with them. They can be a little over-the-top with speakers that already have a hot treble.
