I have been corresponding with the owner, i kinda gave up after no response for about a week and a half, then he pops up, apologizes, and says they are still for sale at a very attractive price, 95 bucks, the only problems are woofer surrounds, "no prob i can do those myself", and a dent in one of the dome mids, maybe a replacement problem in such a relatively low production run speak, if the damage affects the sound and they cant just be pulled out with the old masking tape yank.

I know the quality is there, and the few reviews i have read speak of an astounding soundstage, "right up my alley", the one old ebay auction i could find had them listed at 1200, of course the seller took best offer, but i have to believe it was better than 95 bucks.

Im sorta goin thru that jonesing stage, when you realize you might be the one to get a shot at a very nice pice of gear at a great price, and maybe you will begin to fool yourself.

If i am in fact on a fools errand please let me know in no uncertain terms, if they are worthy let me also know.

If anyone knows of a source for the domes if necessary, that info would also be most appreciated.

ok, the guy just emailed pics of drivers, woofer surrounds are as expected, but the domes are bad.

One looks pushed in, the other literally looks fried, as if there was heat involved.

hard to be certain, because their is a mesh covering over each dome, but it looks like maybe some sort of overload or something.

Kinda strange, as the seller says they sound fine, lol.

Anyways, if someone had a source for the domes, i might still offer him a lowball offer, seeing how these began life as pretty damn nice speaks

For under $100 Scotty go listen if possible. Try to use a source (old receiver) where you can turn treble and bass up separately and adjust balance left to right to check each of the drivers.

On another note you should get your PolkFest shirt in the mail tomorrow along with the money to buy these if you want :), ship the 350 when you can and I'll get you the shipping when you give me a total.
