I am about finally done with my HT for awhile. I need some advice on which speakers to use for side and rears. I have a Lexicon DC2 with RTA15tl's for mains, CS400 for center, RTA11t's for rear, and RTA8t's for sides. I have an extra pair of RTA11t's in my closet. Would there be any benefit to use the 11's over the 8's. I have a Sunfire MKII sub and cross the speakers over at 40hz (except for center). I will sell the extra pair of speakers and will definitely get more for the 11's. The money is not important, but I like the way the smaller speakers fit on the side. Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Jeff

Use the ones that sound better to you.

How do you like the Sunfire sub? I'm drooling for the signature sub.

    No excuses!

John, I think it sounds great. It will definitely shake the windows. I was using a single Polk rt3000 sub and the Sunfire is a definite improvement in the low end. With the Polk you would hear the bass, with the Sunfire you feel the bass. I still use the Polk for music. I think it is more accurate in the 60 + range. I would like to try one of the SVS subs.

From what I have read Jeff, the best setup would be the 8s in the rear or all 11t's. The side are getting a true signal from the DVD unless you have a DD-EX or a DTS-ES DVD. The rears are matrixed from the sides and in mono.
    Chris :)

I haven't done A/B comparisons or anything so can't really comment on the Polks or other subs, but I can and will vouch for the SVS 20-39PC. Outstanding -- clean, tight bass, not boomy at all, and goes down to 20 Hz for just $663 including shipping (I saved about $100 by going for a B-stock). So far I've only used it for music as I still need to get a center and rears and DVD player for the HT, but I am a very happy customer.

from http://www.svsubwoofers.com/ , the only place to get them AFAIK. Which means you have to buy them sound unheard, but you get a 45-day money back gurantee so all you're risking is one-way shipping cost.
