Just purchased a GFA-545 and want to replace the binding posts. I would like posts with the option of spade or banana plugs. Any suggestions?

WBT's are nice, as are Cardas. The latter comes in a gold plated copper billet available from www.sonicraft.com. Sonicraft has a 20% off sale right now.

    Thanks for that PD!

Even more specific is this one, for their specials page: http://www.soniccraft.com/specials.htm

Scroll down to find the BP's on sale.

I have four silver 5-way posts left over from my SRS 2 rebuild, but I don't remember the brand. If you're interested, I can snap a picture and sell them cheap.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions:

zingo: What is a 5 way binding post? I have never had to replace the post and am learning about them.

The binding posts I have are from Energy Speakers (I bought a bunch of them a while ago), and look very similar to these ones below. They work great, look much better than any older plastic or steel units, and are marked black and red which is great.

The term “5-Way” comes from the number of potential connecting methods the binding post can accept. Most people will use either “banana” plugs, or horseshoe-shaped flat connectors called “spade lugs” on the ends of their wires. Bare wire can be stuck through the hole in the shaft (the hole is exposed when the post cap is unthreaded, and then your wire can be clamped by the tightened cap). This clamping approach can also be used with the terminal pin connections found on some speaker wire. The fifth connecting method doesn’t find itself used much in modern audio applications, but the original General Radio product brochure described using “alligator clips,” which are spring loaded clips that have (you guessed it) gripping teeth. - Polk Audio's Website
