I was just wondering who everyone likes in the World Series.

Being a diehard Yankees fan, I hope the Red Sox lose (sorry Boston Polkies, haaa) although I do have to admit that they have a great team and I think they will win it all.

I do not know much about this year's Cardinals team but St. Louis seems to always find a way to win and just play good fundamental baseball.

It should be a good series.

Boston in 6... they are playing for more than just a World Series this year.

    Errors anyone?
I made it through the first 4 last night. The way the Cards were playing wasnt of a world series team.
Bring back Ozzie Smith to play short...greatest SS to touch the field. His batting was another story.

I'm still recovering from the Buckner ground ball play.

Never really been involved in baseball after that play.

There will be much more drama to come.

Are Boston teams really hated that much by the rest of the country? It's not our fault all of our teams are THIS good!

    People like underdogs.

If you live in Boston you always have a team that is going for the title every year. Great sports town in Basketball, Football, Hockey and Baseball. Few cities can compare.

I hope the WBZ radio news this morning didn't jinx the Bosox by reminding us that the crimson stocking'd team has won "nine straight World Series games" :-(

That said, I'm prognosticating Boston in five.

But I am afraid it'll go seven... and I don't know who'll win that last, "best one out of one" game.
I am gettin' too old for this kind of stress ;-)

They didn't used to be - but the teams didn't all used to be all that good. I mean, the Red Sox had kind of a long dry spell ;-) and the Pats were kind of an afterthought for a long, long time.

Try being a Seattle sports fan. M's irrelevant year after year w/ an ownership group that only cares about their bottom line... Sonics ripped from us after 40 years with lies and greed... No hockey yet... Only ONE championship in anything, and that was way back in '79.

Sigh... At least the 'Hawks are good.

Whew ! Glad to see that youngster Wacha showing his stuff.

BTW, that Carpenter sac fly to left in the top of the 7th: a throw to 2nd instead of home would have resulted in doubling out John Jay and the inning would have been over.

    Whew .....

P.S. special shout out and thanks to Rick88 for the extra juju that his AWESOME Polkfest shirt brought to the Institute and the Cards. : ' )

Uh...yep. Not because your teams are good, but because between Boston and NY the arrogance just pisses people off. Just my opinion of course.

maybe.... but....... at this point it would take an epic collapse by the Red Sox. Of course that requires the Cardinals waking up from their slumber.
