Im going to hook up 3 channel HT. With 2 towers for fronts & a center speaker. I want to use a subwoofer but space is a problem on that wall..which i will be facing on my couch..would putting the sub on the other wall beside my couch be a problem as there will be no rear speakers.. Would the bass be too much for me sitting down & watching a movie.. Havent tried it yet but thought id ask here ..any thoughts TIA

Don't see why it would be a problem. A lot of people prefer to have their sub next to the seating position. Ideally you could do a "sub crawl" to find the optimal location but for us real world "HT-in-the-living-room" folks that isn't always practical.

Try the different locations that you can. They are all likely to sound pretty different. You will find one that covers the room best. Also try different distances away from the wall within the same location. I was surprised to find that a corner but 1.5 feet away from each wall very close to the couch worked best in my living room.

Might need to flip the phase switch on sub if you put it beside or behind couch.
