thx receiver dvd player

i would like to know if you have to use a thx dvd player with your thx receiver to take advantage of this option on dvd's or will a normal dolby digital ,dts player work??????.ty.b.reed

    To keep it simple NO. Your THX reciever has DSP's that are mixed to THX standards but it has nothing to do with the DVD player. IT will still read as DD or DTS.

    P.S. I have never liked the THX dsp's for my taste but having a THX cert equipment does not hurt because you know they were built with good standards.
