Hell ya you da man. Hope you enjoy the new job, I myself am hoping to get into the same field as you with the company that my dad works for so I am going to have to go back to school and get my degree also. The wife is studying to be an r.n. and I can go to the same school as her so that we can carpool. I will toast to you later when the woman and I split a six.:D

    Cheers,
    Mike

Welcome to IT! I'm sure your end-users will love you. :D

Congrats on breaking into the IT field. With XP, installing patches and fixing PC's is easier than ever. Just be sure to stay away from those IP sniffers.

    Thanks again guys!

This company is running an all Win2K domain with Active Directory. The few remaining NT desktops will be upgraded to Win2K Pro. Software pushes are easy with group policy.

They did say an Office upgrade is coming down the pike.

Real good stuff! Looking forward to jumping right in.

OUTSTANDING! What type of engineering firm is it? Hell depending on what they do and if you like it a whole new career focus may happen. When I first jumped into wireless in the early 90's the Director of Eng ran IT. He was a good man... shite I wonder whatever happened to him

Again good for you this is a very exciting time.

HBomb will tip many for ya this weekend:D

    HBombtoo:

They do environmental engineering and consulting. ALOT of government contracts. Gotta love the DoD for **** up the environment!

    Steveinaz:

The check is in the mail, ;)

One week till I start. This really is exciting. My teacher always told all of us that the hardest thing to do was to break into the IT field. Once you're in...you're in! He was one of my first calls (he also happens to have become a good friend too). Made him feel great to see another student break into the field. He has a very high success rate of getting his students into the field. 1 week prior to me getting this job, he got another guy into a position as LAN Administrator at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.

    Smart **** he is!

Keep going HBomb! About ready to join ya :D
