Ps3 and how to play videos recorded from my iphone

So some of these videos play fine, others are played upside down. Ugh.
So how do I get the Ps3 to play these apple videos correctly?
Do I need to down load Quicktime player onto my Ps3? Which version of quick time?
Has anyone else figured this out?
Is the Ps3 a windows based OS?
Ugh, I hate these compatibility issues, makes things so difficult for the consumers.
