Bad seller (tubes) and a good recommendation for tube testing

If it's not ok to post this, sorry, but want to save many of you a headache. As some of you know I used to own an Amplitrex and sold many fine NOS and new production tubes in the past. Well, I hit hard times and sold off not only the Amplitrex, but every singlepiece of audio gear I owned. Luckily, I have rebuilt quickly although sadly I don't have a turntable over here, but about 800 records I shipped over when we moved!
wah wah wah - I purchased some PSVANE Type II EL34 from www.tube-sale.com/ (some named linda), and they list on eBay and AudioAsylum.
I asked if they could use an Amplitrex since I thought I saw mention of that. She said they could guarantee a tight match, something about the factor using Amplitrex.
I got the tubes, and my Decware amps meters showed they were not very balanced, maybe 5-8%, which isn't a big deal really as up to 10 should be okay for power tubes. I have gotten tube is from J. McShane and Upscale that are spot on matched on the meters. What I am not sure of is what the meters tell you, the before or after auto-bias is run on them.
I barely used them when suddenly the amp starts going wonky and a tube goes into runaway mode. Luckily the amp wasn't damaged. No email back from them since reporting this.
On the other hand, a friend where I used to live (TAMPA), has an Amplitrex. He has been on the forums for years, maybe not here, but he has a very good ear, great system, and is testing tubes on his AT-1000 for a good price. PM if you want his contact info.
cheers

I just had to send back some tubes I got on ebay.
They are radio tubes and were advertised as new, never installed, still sealed in the US Military delivery cans.
Not new, not unused, and three out of four didn't come close to matching the factory specs. And they were tested on my curve tracer.
Returned them and got my money back. but I am still out the disappointment, return postage, and my time.
And the seller still put them right back up for sale.(*******) -
Thanks for the heads up! But I do believe you should've taken a few "breaths" before posting the above. It's a bit of a mishmash.
