Help with Identifying Polks

I inherited a set of Polk speakers from my grandfather which I didn't use for a while but since I moved, I've been listening to them a lot and I noticed that one of the midbass (I'm fairly certain that's what it is) drivers is blown out.
I'd like to repair them, but I can't even figure out what model speaker they are, so I don't know any of the specifications for the drivers.
As you can see I removed the offending speaker so I could see if there was anything written on it (which there isn't).
Any help would be appreciated in determining which model they are and which replacement speaker is adequate.

Sure those aren't Volk Audio speakers?--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
Wow, thanks for the replies!
So indeed they may not be Polk.
I didn't just assume they were Polk, they have a vintage Polk Audio badge on them.
This does explain why I was having such a hard time identifying them. -
got pics of the grill with the Polk logo?--Gary--

Kind of like the white van speakers where the brand is "Acoustic" and the model of the speaker is "Research" so they can put "Acoustic Research" on the grill.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

I think they are the mythical RTA-13TL that was dropped from the line up due to superstitions about the model number and the fact that they were designed on Friday the 13th. Yes, it is FrankinPolk!Stan

Oh, no I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they are white van. :-P
I'm not arguing that they are real.
I can upload a pic of the grilles if anyone is interested.
The best I can hope for is that they are DIY which he bought from someone else.
The NAD receiver I also got seems legit. -
-
Coupla decent looking NAD components to the left of the rather hideous-looking loudspeaker, though.

I know a guy who has some similar & he picked them up cheap & he is happy with them & thats what counts.GOOD LUCK on your repairs..

None of the drivers look like Polk builds, so not even Frankenpolks...

- "The speakers are not DIY. It's stuffed with egg crates and the cab is pure white van. What happened to the woofer?"
I took out the woofer to see if it had any useful markings on it.
The cabinets seem pretty nice, speakers and crossovers notwithstanding. I'm fairly certain it is 3/4" mdf.
The NAD Receiver is a 7100, which seems to perform quite well.
Again, they aren't "Volk", though they appear to be the same quality.
Okay, so I just took out the top driver and it is pretty pathetic. Unmarked entirely
Binding Posts (Also unmarked) I like that they used 5-way posts though.
So honestly, pretty disappointing, but I don't use these for my serious music listening anyways, I've got a few pairs of headphones for that (Beats, naturally... I joke, I joke :-P).
Since the speakers have become my living room speakers, and I usually only listen to them when I am entertaining guests, it isn't the biggest letdown. -
Someone put the badge on them. There is nothing Polk about them.
Agreed and look at that badge, there's something between the k in Polk and the a in audio that is not on a real Polk Audio badge.Political Correctness'.........defined

Even with the badges looking a little strange you could at least sell them on Ebay :-)Agreed and look at that badge, there's something between the k in Polk and the a in audio that is not on a real Polk Audio badge.POLK SDA 2.3 TLS BOUGHT NEW IN 1990, Gimpod/Sonic Caps/Mills RDO-198
