When looking at audio equipment that use a wall wart power supply, the Seller or reviewer of the equipment mention "an upgraded power supply" made it sound better. Some MFGs even offer a better power supply as an option.

I am currently looking around for a phono preamp, and again I see this "dealer" offering an upgrade to the factory wall wart for 59.00. Here is the ad, he also sells these item on Ebay.

The upgrade AC adaptor he shows for 59.00 is easy to find at partsexpress.com for 15.50. (nice little mark up!)

The question here is, on other stereo equipment like Audio Alcemy or Music Fidelity that use these things, can't I buy from partsexpress.com (or equal) a better "upgraded" power supply, and get the same results? Am I missing something?
