Debating whether to sink the center channel into the drywall or hang on wall / place on mantle.

What is best?

What Polk Center Channel do you have and how do you like it?

If you could have any Polk Center Channel, which one would you switch to and why?

If it has rear ports you may be limiting the sound quality be sinking it into the wall plus the width restrictions as stated prior.

If you are going to go in wall use an in wall speaker, they are made to be front firing and ported.

It would help us to know what speakers and amp you are matching this with, and what your main options are.

Your going to have to be more specific. Anything in-wall needs a speaker designed for that application. You mentioned a "mantle", which means above a fireplace I take it ? That has it's own set of problems. Please state what it is your trying to do, budget, and gear you already have so we can best guide you. The "best" of anything varies greatly to each individual needs.
