Amp Power for the Fronts

Any benefit to getting a separate amp to power the fronts (Rti70's)?
I currently have an 80 watt receiver that works well for the size of my room and my listening preferences (translation -- not too loud). Sounds great to me now, but would it sound even better with a separate 2-channel amp powering them?

it will sound slightly better. more power will always do good for speakers.. the question is.. does your receiver have pre amp outputs or not? You can't use an external amp if your receiver doesn't have pre outs.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I'll disagree here db....
EB,
If you are a low level listener and it sounds great to you, sit back and enjoy. I would not rush to add an amp.

Tour, what is there to disagree about? everyone here knows i'm right.
I'm writing this from experience. I have a 70wpc high current receiver. I always thought that it was being taxed running 5 speakers only putting out 70wpc. I would think Early B's 80wpc is not much different. we have the same fronts.
I decided a year ago to add a 125wpc high current Adcom amp for the fronts.. i DID notice a difference in sound quality with the increase in power from the amp. no longer did the receiver have to power all the speakers.. it's load was greatly reduced by adding external amps. fact has taught us that an increase in power from an larger amp usually means better sound quality.. usually. there are of course other factors.
if the increase didn't make any difference. we'd all be running 50wpc amps.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I have a Denon 1803. If I'm understanding the manual correctly, the receiver has pre-amp outs for "Zone 2". I'm wondering if I can use the Zone 2 to connect an amp and power the fronts on them.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

db,
You know I agree with you in general and you may well be right here, but I don't recall you being a low level listener.More later,
